What is a Series vs a Serial?

A book series has a complete story in each book, typically with the same major character solving a fresh problem or mystery at the end of each book.

By contrast, each book in a serial is an episode and ends on a cliffhanger. The problem or mystery isn’t solved until the end of the last book.

Why Readers Love Series

Even though the story ends with the last page in the book, readers have grown to love the characters, setting, and sense of belonging, and are ready for another adventure in the now-familiar world.

Each new book invites readers back into the world to solve a new problem or mystery with a beloved, long-time friend.

Why I Write Series

Stories are like life. What happens next?

My characters and I are always ready for another challenge, another discovery, another step toward redemption or truth. Writing in series lets me explore their lives and the worlds they inhabit in greater depth, creating the ongoing connections that keep both writer and reader turning the page.

Each series challenges a not-your-typical character in a unique world where secrets linger, courage is tested, and hope always finds a way.
